FAMILY
MEDIATION
Navigating Divorce & Custody with Clinical Precision
Transform family transitions into brave new beginnings. From Georgia court-referred cases to private domestic mediation nationwide, I help families restructure with dignity.
My training as a certified neurodiverse relationship coach and emergency mental health responder, I build clinical skills to engage survivors of trauma including neurodivergent parents or children in a way that they feel seen, heard, and understood. By integrating IFS, we de-escalate the "rumble" of separation, ensuring your parenting plans and financial settlements are rooted in safety and long-term sustainability.
Private Mediation for Domestic Transitions and Parenting.
When a household shifts, the legal requirements are often the simplest part; the true challenge lies in navigating the emotional and sensory upheaval of the transition. At Unseen Spaces, I offer a private, clinical approach to domestic mediation that bypasses the performative nature of the courtroom. This space is dedicated to those who need a sophisticated, de-escalated environment to restructure their lives with precision and dignity.
Clinical De-Escalation for HIgh Conflict Dynamics
In private mediation, we move beyond the "reactive" states that often stall traditional negotiations. Drawing on my background in mobile crisis intervention, I specialize in managing the intense "protective parts" of the personality that emerge during high-stakes domestic disputes. By utilizing the Internal Family Systems model, I help individuals shift from a place of fear or blame toward a "Self-led" perspective. This clinical scaffolding allows for clear-headed decision-making, ensuring that the final agreement is built on stability rather than impulse.
Sensory-Aware Mediation & Neuro-inclusive Parenting Plans
Standard mediation settings can be overwhelming for those who process information differently. I provide a specialized environment for cases involving neurodivergent parents or children (Autism, ADHD, etc) Leveraging training from the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity (ANE.org), I implement communication scaffolding to prevent sensory overload and cognitive fatigue.
This results in highly detailed, concrete parenting plans and separation agreements that account for the specific executive functioning and sensory needs of every individual involved, ensuring the transition is sustainable for the long term.
Protecting the Household Legacy.
For those managing the complexities of rural life—where home, land, and livelihood are often intertwined—private mediation offers a level of nuance that the public system lacks. I understand the unique pressures of maintaining a legacy while navigating a domestic split. My focus is on "protecting the seeds"—creating a durable foundation for the next generation while honoring the heritage and cultural roots of the household. We work to resolve disputes over property and domestic responsibilities without the scorched-earth tactics that can devastate a local reputation or a multi-generational estate.
For Attorneys, Paralegals & Spiritual Leaders: Holding Space for the Hardest Conversations
The Challenge:
Domestic transitions are often the "worst day" of a client's life. High-conflict dynamics can turn a standard divorce or custody case into a traumatic event that depletes both the family’s assets and your firm’s resources.
The Unseen Spaces Solution:
I specialize in the "difficult" cases—those where neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, etc) or historical trauma has made traditional communication impossible. As a Black Mediator with extensive experience in emergency mental health. I bring a "sturdy" presence to the room that commands respect and invites vulnerability. I use IFS to help parents navigate their internal "rumbles," moving them away from shame and blame toward a Self-led parenting plan.
Neuro- Inclusive Scaffolding I build specific structures for clients with executive functioning challenges, ensuring that the resulting agreements are concrete, detailed, and sustainable for the family’s actual needs.
Somatic De-Escalation: By monitoring the "physiology of conflict," I ensure the room stays regulated. This prevents the "scorched-earth" outbursts that often lead to collapsed mediations and unnecessary trials.
A Resource for Spiritual Leaders: I provide a professional bridge for families in your care who need to handle the "business" of a separation without losing their spiritual or communal dignity.
Professional Disclaimer
I serve as a strategic partner for legal professionals handling complex domestic litigation. I am here to assist attorneys whose clients struggle with communication barriers, high-conflict personality dynamics, or sensory processing differences, I have training to assist spiritual leaders in bringing resolution to families that fractured and in need of a different type of assistance.
I provide a controlled, neutral setting that bridges the gap between emotional distress and legal finality. By focusing on regulation before resolution, I help parties reach a comprehensive agreement hat stands the test of time, reducing the need for future litigation and allowing your clients to move forward with a clear sense of peace.
While I utilize my background as a trauma-informed therapist to guide the process, my role here is strictly as a Mediator and Neutral. I do not provide clinical diagnosis or therapy.

Mediation may be valuable to families who want a more affordable and less emotionally draining process than going to court. If a child is involved, mediation can be an especially powerful tool to help ensure a peaceful and stable future for that child.
Unseen Spaces are neutral, professional family mediators who are trained specifically to help families reach lasting and mutually acceptable solutions to their conflict.
As one of the emerging leaders of family mediation in Atlanta, Unseen Spaces works to ensure all parties feel empowered and respected through the process.
-
If your family is going through a conflict like a divorce, a child custody dispute, child support, asset distributions, or an agreement about an adoption, they may need a third party to help them create solutions that everyone can agree to, rather than leaving those decisions to a judge.
In separation, divorce, or parental relocation disputes, our licensed mediators typically create a "terms of separation" agreement that can help families organize the temporary, practical details of their separation, such as living arrangements and parenting schedules. By approaching this process collaboratively, we can ensure your children feel supported and cared for throughout this transition
-
Co-parenting mediation is a supportive way for families to create or update a custody or financial support plan for the kids. It focuses on important things like their living arrangements, visitation, schedules, and how families can best communicate with each other.
At Unseen Spaces, we center the children’s needs during all mediations to prioritize their stability and peace.

Your mediation path may take one of the following journeys:
-
If your Unseen Spaces mediation results in you and your family member coming to an agreement about all areas of your dispute, you have reached a “full resolution.”
-
Your Unseen Spaces mediator will prepare a comprehensive draft document that explains all the matters of your resolution. In the example of a divorce or separation, this document would include details about child custody, financial settlements, division of your property, and even spousal support. The agreement will then be reviewed by your attorneys and submitted to the court for final approval.
-
When mediations achieve a full resolution, the outcome is very similar to final decisions made during a trial. In court cases, your and your family’s attorneys and your judge must approve the agreement.
-
Every situation is different, but in many cases, people choose to mediate a full resolution for their dispute because the process can save time and legal expenses by bringing your own agreement to the court for approval, rather than having a judge make the decision on your behalf.
Achieving a full resolution also helps reduce anxiety about what the outcome will be, since both you and your family will have more agency in deciding the terms of your resolution.
-
In some mediations, it is not possible to reach a full agreement between parties. Once a Unseen Spaces mediator outlines where the parties have reached agreement, any unresolved issues can be tackled through continued mediation, legal negotiations, or court action.
-
A partial resolution helps parties focus on those issues that can be resolved through mediation, minimizing legal fees and timelines, and creating a clearer path to a final agreement.
-
While long-term plans for issues like property division are still being worked out, Unseen Spaces mediation can help families address immediate needs. In the case of a divorce, temporary resolutions can establish a stable framework for child custody and financial support until permanent decisions are made.
-
Mediating temporary resolutions swiftly creates stability, protects children's welfare, and calms disputes before they escalate.
-
If a mediation process concludes without a mutually acceptable agreement, an impasse has been reached. In this case, the parties retain the option to pursue another path forward.
An impasse has no winner or loser, but it does mean that the process to find a resolution to your dispute is extended, with increased emotional and financial costs for everyone.
